Training workshop on how to make resuesable pads
It’s still a stigma when there’s a bloodstain on the dress of a lady. Whether it because we can’t afford quality pads or due to carelessness, the stigma is the same. That’s why CAVIWO decided to embark on a training workshop on June 11th 2024 to train women/widows and their young girls how to make resuesable pads, menstrual hygiene and using menstrual beads to calculate their menstrual period.
We choose the NW Region as this is the area that has the most vulnerable women and young girls. Their challenges are numerous; poverty, lack of education, internal displacement due to conflicts and instability in the region and the increasing number of widows and orphans. Sensitization on menstrual hygiene will keep them from unwanted pregnancies and infections.
