On Feb.06/2026, CAVIWO leaders and volunteers held a meeting (picture in purple shirts) in Orleans at their home office address. This was a planning meeting with 7 participants in attendance to plan the upcoming events, recruit volunteers and leaders. This planning helped us spread the word and develop other ways of reaching out to other communities.
CAVIWO also joined the St Timothy Presbyterian Church on Feb 15/2026 to celebrate BLACK HISTORY MONTH (Pictures above) with More than 100 people of different ethno-cultural background in attendance. The meeting was a great event featuring a Black History church service in collaboration with African Chorus, Ethno-religious celebration and increase awareness of Black history, Community sharing of Afro-Caribbean cuisine and a sensitization message from the executive director of CAVIWO on the Government of Canada’s support to fight racism. It was an occasion to network and invite the congregants to the virtual and final in-person event. The presence of St Timothy church at our event added a great diversity.
